• 6 to 8 Anjou or Bartlett pears (peeled, cored and chopped)
  • 2 vanilla beans
  • 2 cinnamon sticks


  1. Place pears in a pot and pour in enough water to cover them.
  2. Add vanilla beans and cinnamon sticks.
  3. Simmer over medium heat until pears are tender.
  4. Allow pears to cool, then remove cinnamon sticks and vanilla beans.
  5. Puree in blender or with an immersion blender.
  6. Store in the refrigerator or freeze.
